Ogey so this should be a fairly easy page to complete. So basically I wanted to make this page because of my ranging musics tastes (all of which are relatively niche).
The songs I listen to nowadays are really varied in terms in language, the dominant ones though have ought to be English, German, Russian, and Japanese. The genres I listen to are just as varied, those being breakcore, historical socialist music (and historical nationalist music generally), J-pop (I think it's J-pop), and probably a bajillion other subgeneres which I couldn't possibly name.
And I really wanted to mention this because I know that most other people mostly stick to a few related music genre that they like and listen to. In contrast I have a large variety of very different genres that I like listen to. Most of this is a result of me discovering new genres listening tot them a lot for a little bit and then assimilating them into my playlists. The way I lsiten to music also plays a role. Like recently I've been lsitening to a lot of what I've called "forwardwave." Which basically consists of hsitorical socialist songs relating to victories or struggles or "forward motion," and the reason whhy I've been trending towards this kind of music is because I've found it to be jarring to listen to music that doesn't align with my material conditions. What I mean is that I listen to a song that is aloof and bubbly it will seem off to me, even if I really like the song, because I am not in a condition that allows me to feel aloof and bubbly (such as right now when I'm raging a grand struggle against internal "ego reactionaries"). In such a situation (like right now) I will naturally tend towards listening to songs that match my condition and energy for combatting reaction and accelerating forwards which is why my song tastes are the way they are now and they way they were in the past (specifically referring to my music preferences in 2020 - early 2023)
I'd also like to mention how ever since my music preferences changed in 2023 moving away from J-pop(ish) music towards more "forwardwave" esc music I would actively try to go against it (react against it you could say even). I have rejected this tendency after rightfully concluding that my music preferences are a result of my material conditions and trying to go against that is a reactionary tendency which must be negated as it seeks to ignore my material conditions in order to preserve the old when necessarily the old will give way to the new innevitably no matter what I do (also it conjures stupid and pointless contradictions against myself that causes unnecessary internal conflict). Not to say that those songs I liked don't still have their place or I'm not finding new songs I like that would fit the preferences I had then it's just not the main kind of music I listen to now. But maybe when the struggle draws to a close I will be able to enjoy those songs again as I will truly return to being at peace.
